WHAT SHOULD I ASK THE DOCTOR? First appointment today with a GI after months of pain. What should I be sure to ask? Small external hem, possible fissures, loads of pain. Thanks!

Fissures can heal on their own. Looking at your response your doc rightfully so will start from a simpler approach through medicines and then see how it goes rather than jumping to surgical approach straightaway
