****THE REAL ADVICE YOU NEED TO SURVIVE POST OP**** Hi everyone I had my surgery 5 days ago to remove 1 internal hemorrhoid and 3-4 external (mostly skin tags at this point). I went under general anesthesia to have it done. I have been truly lucky to stumble upon some tips that have made the recovery bearable so far. I was terrified of the stories I read but it has been okay (painful but okay). so I wanted to share:

I believe it was just a standard hemorrhoidectomy, with two internal prolapsed removed. I am in my upper 50s for age. At this point in time I am 99% back to normal, it is barely noticeable that I had surgery at all. Thanks for the well wishes.

interesting.....standard hemorrhoidextomy with 1 week to normal might be the current anecdotal winner alongside harmonic focus...

What grade were your hemorrhoids & prolapses? This seems like such such a smooth recovery & great outcome for a traditional surgery. @Jim

Grade 4 - the worst. I mentioned the strangulation issue, well the tissue began to die so it became an urgent problem hence the surgery. As painful as the surgery was, albeit relatively short lived in my case, the week or so leading up to the surgery dealing with the acute hemorrhoids was absolutely hell. I had my follow up appointment a few weeks ago and everything is fine.

Thanks for updating us @Jim very happy to hear it was all smooth from you. Any more lingering symptoms or follow-ups needed? Or no limit life restored? 🙏
